INDICATIONS FOR ARTANE SEQUELS: Based on a review of this drug in sustained release form by the National Academy of Sciences-National Research Council and/or other information, FDA has classified the indications as follows: Probably effective as an adjunct in the therapy of all forms of parkinsonism (postencephalitic, arteriosclerotic, and idiopathic) and for the use in the prevention or control of extrapyramidal disorders due to central nervous system drugs such as reserpine and phenothiazines.
