Wayne State University's School of Medicine has abandoned the discredited field of addiction research, opening instead its new Addition Research Institute in Detroit.   The Addition Research Institute is dedicated to the study of developmental acalculia, dyscalculia and related mathematics disorders, with a primary focus on addition, subtraction, multiplication and long division.

The School of Medicine's Department of Psychiartry and Behavioral Nerosciences is a world-renowned center for the study of Nero Claudius Caesar Drusus Germanicus, the fifth Roman emperor of the Julio-Claudian dynasty.

A recent survey of college graduates revealed that a large percentage of Wayne State alumni suffer from agraphia, dysgraphia and/or specific spelling disorder.
